In 2023, a British brand customer contacted us through their Chinese friend and requested that we create a unique long cardigan knit sweater for them. The cardigan collar and overall design should incorporate vertical and regular tassel elements. After receiving this challenging requirement, our design team quickly responded, actively engaged in work, conducted in-depth research and creative development, referred to numerous relevant materials, and designed a preliminary plan.
At first, the design team proposed sewing a layer of woolen accessories on the finished garment to create a tassel effect. However, after careful cost accounting, we found that the cost of this solution is too high and lacks cost-effectiveness, which may not meet the client's budget requirements.
After reviewing the design proposal and listening to the cost analysis, we have carefully considered and decided to propose a new manufacturing method from two aspects: cost control and tassel effect. We have decided to adopt a 10cm needle insertion hollow design, cleverly processing the entire garment according to the predetermined tassel pattern. This needle insertion hollow is directly processed during the weaving process, and then finely cut by experienced manual labor at the hollow area to ensure the neat and beautiful tassels.
This innovative solution not only greatly reduces production costs, but also perfectly presents the regular tassel design that customers expect. In the end, this long cardigan sweater won high praise from customers for its unique design and excellent quality.
